Hi. My name is Marco. I was a stray, and DPS brought me to Northern California to find my forever home. My new family fell in love with me on sight. I guess those hugs and kisses I give so well really paid off - that and my really soft pet-able coat and smiling face.
I've been busy since they brought me home - I've gotten to go to the pet store and pick out my own treats - which I decided to eat right on the spot!! I've also discovered how much fun it can be to race at breakneck speed around my new back yard - I love lawns!
I've also been to visit my new extended family - Oma and Opa, and Grandma and Grandpa, as well as some new doggy playmates. I've got 2 new "cousin" doggie friends - Howie is a HUGE golden lab that I wasn't afraid of at all - in fact, I took one of his rawhide treats away from him and he didn't mind at all! I can't wait to meet my other "cousin" doggie friend - Poppy, a Westie.
Yesterday I had my first visit with my new vet, who said I was a very cute loveable fellow and my family was very lucky to find me. I think I was the lucky one!
Today I got my official license! I'm really theirs now!! And now I can go to the dog park, too!!
Tomorrow I start obedience school - I know I'll make some new friends there, too. I'm hoping they teach me how to ask to go outside - 'cause I don't know how to do that yet. I'm pretty good about walking on a leash, and once I even sat when told to - AND - I've learned to come when called! My family was pretty impressed!
Here's a picture of me with my new "brother" - a cat named Kitty - who weighs almost as much as me! We have a sort of easy truce right now. I want to play, but he is being a little more mature than I am and is taking a wait and see attitude. He's only batted at me once! He lets me sniff his nose!
My new family has been busy posting all kinds of new pictures of me on something called "Facebook"!
Well, I guess that's about all. As you can see, I've been having quite a good time!
I just wanted to let the folks at DPS know I'm doing really well and am having lots of fun.
Thank you for helping me find my forever home!
With much appreciation,
Marco - now Marco Haccou!
