Wall-E AKA Jumangi - adopted

  Dear Teresa,

  I just wanted to let you know how Wall-E (formerly Jumangi) is doing. I renamed him after the movie WALL-E, which is my favorite movie and my favorite character in a movie. Wall-E shares some similarities with Wall-E the robot, in that he is a scavenger (he is always trying to eat things from the ground, I have to remind him that he has a regular source of food!) and he shakes when he is scared (mainly on the bus, he is a little afraid of the bus). He is very happy in his new home; he loves me and my roommates and we love him too! He has been coming to all my classes with me; he rides in my bike basket to class and sleeps on my lap while I do my work. My classmates adore him; he has become something of a mascot in my classes. He is a little bit afraid of men, but I am trying to get him acclimated. He warms up after a bit in any case. Wall-E went to the vet about a week ago and his health is ship-shape.

  Wall-E has many adorable habits. He sleeps in my bed and he likes to wake me up by sticking his beard in my face. A few mornings ago, I tried to hit the snooze button. He started moving around so I flipped over in bed and put a pillow on top of my head. Then, he climbed on the pillow on my head, and leaned his head over the edge of the pillow to stick his nose in my face. Needless to say, he woke me up! Wall-E loves squirrels and birds, and he still thinks he can catch them. He thinks that if he wasn't on a leash, he would definitely catch them and make a snack out of them. I have to tell him that even if he caught them, they might be able to eat him as a snack! Wall-E's favorite toy to play with is a squeaky purple stuffed dog that my mom sent him as a present for Easter. He chases it when I throw it but sometimes he gets so excited that he just races back and forth across the apartment, completely forgetting about the toy.

  Unfortunately Wall-E can't go to training class yet, because the training school nearby only has a class for puppies right now and they won't let him in :-( and that is the only school that is close enough for me to go to. So, he will have to get his training at home until the training school has a class for adults. He has been getting more consistent about "sit", so he is making progress.

  Can you please forward this to Wall-E's foster mom? I would love for her to know how Wall-E is doing. Also, I just want to thank you guys for rescuing Wall-E. He is a wonderful dog, he gives me so much love. It makes me smile just to look at him and his little underbite and his beard-face. My nickname for him is Beard-Face, by the way.

  It makes me so sad to think that no one wanted him, when he is just the most amazing dog. So thank you again, you are angels to have saved my Wall-E and all the other dogs at your rescue!

  Hi Teresa and friends!

  Wall-E and Cathy here. I just wanted to give you an update on how Wall-E is doing. I might keep this short since it is pretty late here. Wall-E has started training and he loves it! He is very good, and he is learning a lot. Right now he is on his very first family road trip to Michigan. He climbed dunes, rode in a canoe, and rode in a horse-drawn carriage on Mackinac Island. Sadly I forgot my camera for the canoe ride; it was so cute! He was peeking over the edge and looking all around, and it was adorable.

  I will attach a few pictures. Also, I got a thing called a LoveSac, which is kind of like a giant beanbag chair but it is filled with big foam pieces instead of beans so it is comfier and it doesn't go flat. Wall-E loves to sit in it and leap on and off it, so I will send a picture of him sitting in it. He thinks I got it just for him!

  I will update you more later, I am tired right now. I wanted to send you the pics while I was thinking of it though.
